One project finally behind me and more to go!!! Here I am with J & M on Friday night. Been too long since we all met up properly. Met Z before J & M arrived. I'll see her on Monday and we've arranged to do the socialite thing by airkissing...
Here's JoJo on the piano, I think his choice in music is more depressing than mine is! It perked up later and he and N had a litle singalong. 1.5 bottles of wine between 3 - just perfect at the end of a difficult week.
Everytime I meet up with the gals, I end up inhaling so much secondhand smoke its just as good as drawing on those sticks myself. But I don't think I should even go there. sigh.....

After a long day, arranging chairs (yes, that's part of my job), hauling props, etc, I met up with P, Wm & D, J, R & my kiddies for dinner at TH AGAIN.... They've put something on the menu which we all wanted to try and here is it. 2 obscene leg of pork, but it was so delicious, the skin was crunchy and the fat was meltingly soft... Wm & J went for the bones at the end.
Obligatory vegetables: Cos Lettuce & Bittergourd with egg (I hate bittergourd)
Hazel who will never eat anything else in a restaurant with her usual fried rice.
And a seafood wok (sea cucumber, fish maw & abalone - the weird bits that only the Chinese will love! )

KL with A & M, S & J. It was a fun evening with lots of laughs.
The topics of conversation ranged from Russian food to BBQ stoves to a step by step guide on how not to disturb your sleeping fellow passengers on an aircraft by using a bottle.
We had 3 plates of the usual KL chicken wings which never fail to disappoint, and a bbq'ed stingray with belachan (shrimp paste) sauce and a plate of extremely salty chips.

HOW TO PUT ON 2 KGS OVERNIGHT
Went to Empire Hotel for their seafood buffet. I won't say if I ate everything on these lovely plates of food, but I came pretty close....
Plate 1 - Cold poached prawns, salmon sashimi & octopus sashimi
Plate 2 - Cold peeled prawns, smoked salmon & oysters (I wish I had a glass of chilled chardonnay to go with these but alas, its the Atrium, they are more flexible at Pantai).
Plate 3 - More smoked salmon. These were coated with black sesame seeds. And MORE prawns.
Next:
Main Course
Thinly sliced roast beef with beef jus & mustard (not hot enough for me), tempura prawns & tiny roast potatoes.
Then, a Thai soup with beansprouts and I added lots of salad leaves from the buffet. It was very tasty but I think too much MSG (flavour enhancer) was added. I woke with a raging thirst at 3.30 am this morning and have been up since then.
More to come:
The desserts
Bread & Butter Pudding Topped with Almond Flakes and served with lashings of custard sauce.
This is carrot cake, cheese cake and blackforest cake. And a tiny slice of raspberry mousse. I usually love carrot cake but this one was sticky so no points there. However the blackforest cake was delicious and I had to have another slice. (You can spot watermelon in the corner and that was my bid for healthy living last night).
R's treat last night - thanks R, and have a great time in Vancouver/Edmonton.
